New Rector Search

Parish Prayer: Gracious and loving God, be with St. Stephen’s Parish, Vestry, Search Committee, Clergy and Staff as we move forward in calling a new Rector. Enfold the candidates in your peace as they put themselves forward to be considered.  Fill them, and us, with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit as we do his work in the Name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen

St. Stephen’s has begun the process of searching for a new Rector, following the departure of The Rev. Jane Gould in November of 2017. Our Interim Priest, The Rev. Tom Barrington, came to us having just served at as the Bridge Priest and Interim at Bristol Trinity Church in Easton, MA.

Search Committee: After much consideration, prayer and review, the Search Committee was commissioned by the Wardens and Vestry in March of 2018.

We have forwarded the Parish Profile to the Vestry for approval/disapproval. Once the Vestry approves the profile it will be forwarded to the Diocese for approval and posted on their website. At that time the Parish Profile will be posted onto the St. Stephen’s website for viewing by applicants.

Ultimately, the Search Committee will recommend a final candidate to Vestry. The Vestry will then vote on whether or not to call the candidate to be our next rector. Throughout this process our goal is to update the parish regularly our progress.

Parish Profile:
The Parish Profile is scheduled to be complete by June 2019 and will then be linked to this website.
