Two weeks ago a man in his late twenties approached me. “Do you have any loose change?”  “This is the third time in a month that you have approached me,”  said I. I will give you something on one condition – tell me about yourself and what is going on in your life. I bought him a cup of coffee and toast. He slowly unveiled his story. One hour later we parted. He had tears in his eyes and so did I. I don’t know if his story is totally true but his emotion was real. I gave him two dollars and recommended that he get his life together. You are too young and too bright to be begging for spare change. I gave him the number for the Salvation Army and said that is a good starting place. God loves him just as much as anyone else. I can only hope.
